About
"Shradh" refers to a ritual that is perfumed to pay respect to ancestors of the devotees. It is beleived that performing this ritual helps the departed souls to find peace and move on to the afterlife. Shradh is a ritual in which offering is made to the ancestors like food, water and their favorite items. It is mainly done to satisfy the unfulfilled wants of ancestors of the devotees and bring peace to their souls.
At first devotees take a bath in holy river before performing the shradh. It is required to wear white clothes during this ritual. Then sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Devotees offers water with mixed black sesame seeds, Kusha grass and White flowers to soul to satisfy the ancestors. At last, devotees share food with crow, cow, ants and dogs and the puja is completed.

Black sesame(काला तिल), Akshat(अक्षत), kusha grass(कुशा घास), Ganga jal(गंगा जल), White flower(सफेद फूल), Ghee(घी), Honey(शहद), Honey, Milk(दूध), Sweets(मिठाइयाँ).

This puja can be done on any day of the year according to the Muhrat.
