The main purpose of the Narayan Nagbali puja is to fulfil the incomplete desires of the ancestors. The Narayan Nagbali puja involves three rituals the first ritual is Narayan Nagbali puja in this puja Lord Vishnu is worshipped. The second ritual is Nagbali puja in this puja Snake idol is worshipped and the third ritual is Ganesh puja in this ritual Lord Ganesh is worshipped. This puja is to be performed in cases of unnatural deaths, like death by accident, suicide, snake bite etc. Narayan Bali Puja is performed to fulfil and pacify the unsatisfied desires of dead souls who are trapped in our world because these desires stay with the soul even after death.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of god Vishnu with the help of mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then offering of things like rice balls, kumkum, gulaal etc. is done by the pujari with the help of mantras and following proper Vedic rituals.
