About
Vaitrani is a mythological river in the Hindu religion, which lies between the earth and the hell(narak). According to Hindu mythology, the puja of the holy river Vaitrani is done to get moksh and sharnagati of the departed souls. It is done to get them relief from all the sins they have made in their life and help them in the way to the heaven (swarg).
At first sankalp is made in the name of the devotee and for the person for whom the puja is being conducted. Than the daan of things like rice, water, clothes etc are done in the process of ” Mahadaan “. After that cow is worshipped with aarti and mantras and daan of food and other things are also given to the cow. This donated to the cow helps a the souls to cross the river Vaitrani.
