The word kumkumarchana is combination of two words "Kumkum" is a red powder made from turmeric and lime and "Archana" means offering. In this ritual devotees worship Goddess by applying kumkum to their idols. While performing this puja chanting mantra is very beneficial. Worshipping Goddess with kumkum is very beneficial to devotees.
At first sanklp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of Goddess is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then devotees offers Kumkum to Goddess. At last, arti is done by the pujari and blessings are taken by the devotees.
