Mahurgad - Shri Suktam Abhishek with Naivedyam

Mahurgad temple is dedicated to Goddess Renukadevi.It is beleived that the renukadevi temple is one of the three and half Shakti peeth.  Navchandi path is a powerfull ritual dedicated to Goddess Chanadi. In this puja all the nine forms of Goddess Durga is worshipped. During this puja various mantras are chanted by the pujari. Durga saptashati is also known as Devi Mahatmaya or chandi path.

Lighting diyas is an important  tradition and is considered sacred. They are meant to proctect again negative energies and symbolizw purity. Lighting a diya is a way to invoke the presence of the deity being worshipped. Lighting diya is represence the unwavering devotation of the devotees towards the Goddess.     

The word kumkumarchana is combination of two words "Kumkum" is a red powder made from turmeric and lime and "Archana" means offering.  In this ritual devotees worship Goddess by applying kumkum to their idols. While performing this puja chanting mantra is very beneficial.  Worshipping Goddess with kumkum is very beneficial to devotees.

The word Naivedyam comes from Nivedana, which means ‘to offer’"Naivedyam" is a Sanskrit term used in to refer to the food offered to deities during worship. After the offering of bhog to Goddess is done it is distributed as prasad  It is believed that performing this ritual is the best way of expressing devotation to the Goddess. 

The term "Abhishek" is derived from Sanskrit and means  "pouring over." This ritual is performed to show devotion, seek blessings, and express reverence towards the deity. Abhishek puja is a ritual in which devotees offers various things to the Goddess. In this ritual devotees offers thing like Milk, Water, Ghee, Curd, Honey, Flowers to the Goddess. At last arti is done and blessing are taken by  the devotees.

Rudra Abhishek is a significant and sacred Vedic ritual performed to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. This puja includes the bathing of Lord Shiva along with chanting of mantras with items like Panchamrit, Milk and other sacred items. It is believed that doing this puja helps in Renuka devi making Lord Shiva happy.

"Panchamrita" literally means "five nectars, Panchamrit Abhishek is a ritual puja where five liquids are poured over the deities and mantras are chanted. The word Panchamrit is combination of two words Panch which means five and Amrita which means nectar. The five main ingredients are used to make Panchamrit including milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar. These all are mixed. Mantras are chanted throughout the process and once the puja is completed, the Panchamrut is distributed as prasad. 

Bhogi  puja is an important puja ritual which is done at the Renuka devi Temple. Bhog  means special offering that is done to the Goddess by the devotees to gain her blessings. In this puja special things are offered to the Goddess. In this ritual things like Coconut, Sweets, Turmeric and Kumkum are offered to the Goddess.  

The term of Samput Patha "Puja" typically refers to a worship or ritualistic. this puja is  mantra is recited with the addition of specific phrases. Durga Saptashati path is also known as the Chandi path this path is collection of 700 mantra that worship the Goddess Durga During the puja various mantras and Jaap are chanted.

Vida means Betel leaf. In this ritual betel leaf is offer to the goddess. Betel leaves are considered very auspicious. It is believed that it is  symbol of purity. while offering  the betel leaves, devotess  chant  mantras and prayer to invoke the blessings of the deity and seek their protection and grace.

Shree sukta is one of the panch suktam. Shri sukta is a sacred mantra found in the Rig Veda. Shree sukta is made up of 16 Mantras. Shri sukta Abhishek involves chanting according to the mantras of Shri sukta. Performing Shri sukta abhishek with offering Naivedhyam is very beneficial to the devotees. Naivedhyam refers to the food that is offered to deities during puja. The Naivedhyam includes various things like Fruit, Sweets, and Cooked dishes. It is believed that by offering Naivedhyam and doing Shri Sukta Abhishek is the best way of expressing devotion to Renuka Devi.
