The word Naivedyam comes from Nivedana, which means ‘to offer’"Naivedyam" is a Sanskrit term used to refer to the food offered to deities during worship. After the offering of bhog to Goddess is done it is distributed as prasad It is believed that performing this Naivedyam ritual in Mahurgad is the best way of expressing devotation to the Goddess.
At first sankalp is taken in the name of devotees. Than invoking of Renuka devi is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari.In this ritual things like Rice, Sweets, Kumkum and Flowers are offered to Renukadevi.This bhog is distributed to devotees as the prasad of Renukadevi. At last, arti is done by the pujari and blessings are taken by the devotees.
