About
Laghu Rudra Abhishek at Pashupatinath is a ritual done for worshipping Lord Shiva while chanting mantras. In this ritual, Panchamrut (milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar), is offered to Shiva. This pooja is performed by experienced priests and they recite powerful mantras by taking the Sankalp in the name of the devotee. While doing Abhishekam on Shiva Lingam, the chanted mantras are Rudra Suktha Mantras. After the Abhishekam, the priest purifies it with different mixtures. At last, aarti is done by the Shivling then Maha Mitrunjay Jaap is started along with the Dashansh Hawan. After completion of havan, the 11 Brahmins are offered bhojan and daxina.
First, the Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotee. During the process of bathing Shiva Linga, the priests chant mantras. These mantras are Rudra Suktha. After the process of giving a bath to the Shiva Linga, the priest purifies it with a mixture of curd, honey, cow's milk, sugarcane, rice, and other items. Panchamrit Abhishek is also done after the Lahgu Rudrabhishek. At last, aarti is done of the shivling. Than Dashansh Hawan. is started.
