About
Pashupatinath Laghu Rudra Abhishek is a ritual done for worshipping Lord Shiva while chanting mantras. In this ritual, Panchamrut (milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar) is offered to Shiva. This pooja is performed by experienced priests and they recite powerful mantras by taking the Sankalp in the name of the devotee. While doing Abhishekam on Shiva Lingam, the chanted mantras are Rudra Suktha Mantras. After the Abhishekam, the priest purifies it with different mixtures. At last, aarti is done by the Shivling then Maha Mitrunjay Jaap is started. After completion of havan, the 5 Brahmins are offered bhojan and daxina.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. During the process of bathing Shiva Linga, the priests chant mantras. These mantras are Rudra Suktha. After the process of giving a bath to the Shiva Linga, the priest purifies it with a mixture of curd, honey, cow's milk, sugarcane, rice, and other items. Then Panchamrut Abhishek is done with the shivling after the completion of it aarti is done and Maha Mitrunjay Jaap is started.
Garbhgruh abhishek time is between 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in this puja.
