About
Gau Puja at ISKCON Nellore is a sacred act of love, gratitude, and respect toward the divine cow, Gau Mata. This peaceful ceremony connects devotees with spiritual values while promoting cow protection and care for nature. Performing Gau Puja brings blessings of peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth, removing planetary obstacles and inviting the grace of Lord Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi. It also supports the noble mission of Go Raksha, expressing devotion through service and compassion.
At ISKCON Nellore, Gau Seva Puja begins with Sankalpam (vow to serve and honor the cow) and Achamanam (self-purification). The cow is bathed gently with clean water or Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar), then adorned with haldi, kumkum, flowers, and cloth. Devotees chant Go Suktam and light a diya and dhoop. Offerings like green grass, jaggery, and bananas are made, followed by pradakshina and aarti, invoking Gau Mata’s divine blessings of peace and prosperity.
