About
Tripindi shradh is a sacred ancestral ritual performed to offer peace, satisfaction and liberation to departed souls who may have received proper shradh rites or whose annual shradh ceremonies have been discontinued. it is especially recommended for families experiencing ancestral obstacles, known as pitru dosha or recurring difficulties believed to be connected with unsettled ancestral energies. this puja is performed at the holy banks of the river ganga at the revered triveni ghat. the ghat is considered highly auspicious for pitru karya (ancerstral rites) because of its association with the sacred confluence of the ganga, Yamuna and saraswati and devotees believe that offerings made here help bring peace and blessings to the ancestral lineage.
First Sankalp is taken in the name of devotee. the priest will prepare three sacred pindas made from rice, balck sesame seeds, barley flour, honey and ghee and then offered to the ancestors. tarpan is then performed by offering water mixed with black sesame seeds to the pitrus. the ritual concludes with prayers for the liberation and satisfaction of the departed souls, followed by offerings and blessings from the priests.
