About
11 Brahmin Bhojan is a sacred Hindu ritual in which eleven learned Brahmins are respectfully invited, worshipped and served a traditional sattvic meal. It is performed to seek the blessings of ancestors, deities and revered sages while expressing gratitude through the noble act of Anna Daan (donation of food). This ritual is commonly performed during Shradh, Pitru Paksha, birthdays, anniversaries, housewarming ceremonies and other auspicious occasions to bring peace, prosperity and divine grace.
The ritual starts with a Sankalp. then the respectful welcome and worship of the eleven Brahmins are done. They are offered clean seating, water for washing hands and feet and traditional tilak. A freshly prepared sattvic meal is then served with devotion and humility. After the meal, Dakshina, is offered respectfully.
