It is believed that if a person's Rahu or Ketu is strong on Surya, then a person will have to face issues of Surya Grahan, and this will have a lot of effects on their life. To avoid these effects and problems caused by Surya Grahan Dosh, a person has to perform Surya Grahan Dosh puja. Doing this puja in Rameshwaram is more beneficial.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then, invoking Lord Ganesh is done to remove all kinds of problems and hurdles from the puja by the pujari. Then, invoking Lord Surya is done along with Lord Shiva with the help of mantras and prayers by the pujari.
