Pind Daan is a ritual which is performed after the death of a person. Pind daan is ritual us performed to honor ancestors. Performing this vidhi provide peace and Moksh to the departed soul they get freedom from the cycle of birth and death. In this ritual pind to the ancestor this pind are made from cooked rice, sesame and other sacred materials. These offerings are belied to satisfy the ancestors in afterlife.
At first devotees take a bath in the holy river. It is required to wear white holy clothes during this ritual and wear a ring of "Kush" grass. Then Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotee and then devotees offer water with mixed black sesame seeds, Kusha grass and White flowers to the soul to satisfy them. Than havan is performed by the pujari by chanting mantras and offering Ahuti with the help of things like Akshat, Water, Ghee, Black Sesame etc. The pujari ji offers Ahuti in the name of all the ancestors who have died. At last Shradh and hawan Vidhi is complete and blessings of ancestors are taken by the devotees.
