Parvan Shradh which is also known as Varshik Shradh, is the annual ancestral ritual performed every year for the departed family member passed away. It is a sacred act of gratitude and remembrance through which lineage pray for the peace, satisfaction and blessings of their ancestors (Pitru Devatas). After the first year's Shradh rites are completed, the yearly Shradh is generally performed in the Parvan Shradh form.
First Sankalp is taken by the priest then priest will invoke the ancestors. Then pandit ji will make 6 Pindas using rice, barley flour, black sesame and ghee. Vedic mantras are recited throughout the puja and prayers are offered for the peace and liberation of the departed soul.
