About
Maa Mahishasuramardini Pujan is a powerful Devi worship performed for protection, removal of negative influences, overcoming enemies and obstacles and developing courage and inner strength. The worship invokes the divine energy of Maa Durga in her Mahishasuramardini form, who represents the victory of righteousness over harmful and negative forces. This pujan is especially performed with the intention of Shatru Nash, protection from hidden opposition, removal of persistent obstacles and establishing a positive and peaceful environment.
The pujan begins with Maha Ganpati evam Gauri Pujan, seeking blessings for the successful completion of the ritual, then Kalash Pujan and Navagraha Pujan is done for purification and planetary balance. Deep Pujan is then performed to invoke divine light and remove negativity. The main anushthan includes Baglamukhi Jaap, traditionally associated with protection and the restraint of harmful influences and then Bajrang Baan Parayan is recited for strength, courage, and protection and Aparajita Parayan for victory and overcoming adverse circumstances. The ritual ends with Vishesh Homam, in which sacred offerings are made into the fire with the prescribed mantras.
