About

Maha Mrityunjaya Havan is a Hindu ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva, focused on the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra, believed to conquer death and promote healing and well-being. This powerful mantra, also known as the Mrityunjaya mantra, is chanted during the havan (fire ceremony) to invoke Shiva's blessings for long life, good health, and protection from untimely death. The ritual is often performed to alleviate suffering, remove negative energies, and enhance spiritual growth. Participants believe the havan creates a positive energy field, fostering peace and warding off negativity.

Mahamrityunjaya Havan is a powerful Vedic fire ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva for health, protection and freedom from premature death. The ritual begins by purifying the Havan Kund and establishing a sacred space with Ganesh Puja and Kalash Sthapatana. Devotees then invoke Lord Shiva through Dhyana (meditation) and Sankalpa (restraint). The fire is lit using pure ghee, cow dung husk and dry wood. Prasads like ghee, honey, sugar, rice, sesame seeds and dry herbs are made while chanting the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra:

"Om Tryambakam Yajmahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiv Bandhanan Mrityuyor Mukshya Maamrutat"

Arpan (ahuti) is made with each mantra chanted. There will be 12500 offerings in this havan. The ritual ends with aarti, purnahuti (final offering) and distribution of prasad. This havan is especially effective for healing, protection from diseases and removing deadly challenges.

There will be 10 panditjis in this puja.

Benefits of Puja

Mahamrityunjay Havan is a sacred Vedic fire ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its powerful healing and protective energies. The primary benefit is protection from untimely death and severe health issues. Chanting the Mahamrityunjay Mantra during the havan generates divine vibrations that purify the mind, body, and surroundings. It aids in recovery from chronic diseases, strengthens the immune system, and brings mental peace and emotional stability. The ritual removes negative energies, evil influences, and planetary doshas (malefic effects of planets). It also helps in resolving life obstacles, bringing prosperity, and ensuring family well-being. Spiritually, it deepens one’s connection with Lord Shiva and supports the journey towards moksha (liberation). The fire offerings (ahutis) made with ghee and herbs cleanse the atmosphere and create a protective aura around the devotee’s home and loved ones. Regular performance of this havan promotes longevity, inner strength, courage, and a balanced, harmonious life.
