Pind Daan is a ritual performed by offering prayers to the ancestors or the soul. The puja is an important part of Hindu funeral rites and is done to have a peaceful journey of the departed soul. This ritual is mostly performed on Pitru Paksha or death anniversary. one can do this puja in ujjain.
Pind daan is done after taking a bath. It is required to wear white holy clothes during shradh karma like traditional dhotis, kurta, etc. Pind Daan is done by offering rice, jaggery, sweets, etc under the guidance and mantras of Brahmins. The material used to prepare pind during shradh is made up of kneading rice or barley flour. These pinds are made in circular form and are offered to the deceased during pind daan karma.
