Navagraha Shanti Puja - Prayagraj

About
Navagraha Shanti Puja is a sacred ritual that seeks blessings from the nine planetary deities (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu). In Prayagraj, it is performed with mantras, offerings, and sometimes a fire ceremony (havan) to calm harmful planetary effects. This brings better health, peace, success in career, harmonious relationships, and removes life’s obstacles. The ritual also deepens spiritual well-being and brings positive energy into daily life.
First, salnalpa is taken with the names of the devotees. Then, the Panditji invokes Lord Vishnu with chanting and prayers. The Kalash is decorated with coconut, mango leaves and flowers. The nine planets are invoked using mantras and prasad like flowers, rice, fruits and incense. The Navagraha Yantras or idols are worshipped with ghee, roli and sesame seeds. Havan is performed with the chanting of Navagraha mantras to reduce the effects of negative planets. Finally, aarti is performed with prayers for peace and prosperity and prasad is distributed.
