Panch Grah Jaap in Ujjain is a sacred ritual performed to appease five important planets from the Navagrahas. The jaap (chanting) is done with proper mantras to reduce the malefic effects and bring peace, prosperity, and balance in life. It is mainly done for those facing planetary doshas in their kundli. Pandit chants the prescribed number of mantras for each of the five grahas with devotion to bring positive energy and blessings.
In Panchagraha Jaap , the Pandit begins with the Sankalp (intention) in the name of the devotee. Then the Navagraha Mantras are Chanted. After that, the five selected planets are chanted (Jaap) with appropriate mantras and mala. There is a fixed number of mantra repetitions for each planet. A total of 84000 jaaps will be performed in this , in this 17000 Ketu jaap, 18000 Rahu jaap, 19000 Guru jaap, 23000 Shani jaap, and 7000 Surya jaap is done. total 30 Brahmins will perform these 84000 jaap.
