Mul Nakshatra Dosh Nivaran Puja - Prayagraj

About
Mul (also called Moola) Nakshatra Dosh occurs when a child is born under one of six special constellations—Ashwini, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Moola, or Revati—collectively known as Gandmool Nakshatras. Hindu astrology believes this can bring challenges like health or family troubles. Performing the Dosh Nivaran Puja—ideally within 27 days (or up to 27 months/years)—helps neutralize these negative effects. Performed in sacred Prayagraj, it brings protection, peace, improved health, and future harmony for the child and family.
First, salnalpa is taken with the names of the devotees. Then, the Panditji invokes Lord Vishnu through chanting and prayers, the priest installs the Kalash, lights a lamp and invokes Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles. Special mantras are chanted to pacify the planetary effects for the birth constellation of the child. Prasad of flowers, fruits, rice, sesame seeds and Panchamrit is offered. Havan is performed with ghee and samidha, after which blessings are given for the child. Finally, food is served to the Brahmins for peace and protection and dakshina is given.
