Lord Ganesh is the God of wisdom and knowledge. Lord Ganesh has 108 names like Vighnharta, Vinayaka, Gajanan, and others. Lord Ganpati is worshipped for good fortune, prosperity, wisdom, and happiness. Lord Ganesh is also known as the ‘God of New Beginnings.’ He is worshiped before initiating any new venture or ceremonies, etc. In Ganpati puja Durva Grass is offered to him. Durva, a sacred grass, has special importance in the ritualistic worship of Shri Ganapati. Modak is Lord Ganesh's favorite food during puja rituals Modak is also offered to him.
At first Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking Lord Ganesh is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then Abhishek is done of Lord Ganesh with 16 mantras known as Shodshopcharpuja. Then things like panchamrit, Modak, flowers, fruits, etc. are offered to Lord Ganesh in the form of Nevidhya, and clothes are also offered to Lord Ganesh. Then devotees receive blessings from Lord Ganesh. At last, puja will be completed with the aarti of Lord Ganesh.
