Temples in Chamoli
Rudranath Temple is the a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiv, it is one of the panch kedar temples. Located in the Garhwal Himalayan Mountains in Uttarakhand this is a natural rock temple. It is the third temple of the Panch kedar. It is believed that the face of Lord Shiva is worshipped here as " Neelakantha Mahadev". It is one of the hardest trek which is approximately 24 kms long.
Kalpeshwar is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in the Urgam valley in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state in India. The ancientlegends believe that the temple was built by Pandavas after the war of the Mahabharat. This temple is the only temple among the Panch kedar temples which is accessible through out the year.
Chamoli is a district situated near the Garhwal region in Uttarakhand. It is also known for its natural views, green valleys and Rivers. There are many famous temples like Rudranath Temple, Kalpeshwar Temple, Badrinath Temple, Joshimath Temple and many others. The best time to visit Chamoli is from the month of October till March and festivals like Ganga Dussehra, Diwali and Makar Sankranti are also celebrated during this period.
