Puja at Amarkantak

Narmada Sahastrarchan Puja is a ritual involving worship and offering devotion to the Narmada River in Amarkantak. Sahastrarchan means performing worship with various offerings like flowers, fruits, incense, etc and chanting of mantras. Devotees seek blessings, purification and spiritual upliftment by connecting to the Narmada River.

Amarkantak is the birthplace of River Narmada and it is considered a holy river of India. Narmada known as Reva, has been worshipped by peoples as Goddess and Lokmata. It is the only river which is circumambulated and also mentioned in the Puranas that the results which cannot be obtained even by bathing in can be obtained by seeing the Narmada.

Rudra Abhishek is a significant and sacred Vedic ritual performed to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. This puja includes the bathing of Lord Shiva along with chanting of mantras with items like Panchamrit, Milk and other sacred items. It is believed that doing this puja in Amarkantak helps in making Lord Shiva happy.

Tarpan and Pitru Havan have special importance in the method of Pitru Paksha. The ancestors are paid respect by performing Shraddha. It is believed that Shraddha rituals are completed only when offerings are made to the fire along with Vedic mantras as per the rituals and offerings of rice, water, sesame, ghee, sugar or sugar are made in it. By performing havan in this way the ancestors are pleased and satisfied.

In Tarpan Puja offering of water to the ancestors is done. During the puja special mantras and prayers are chanted. The name and Gotra of the soul are mentioned in the prayers. Performing this puja in Amarkantak is better.

Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap is a powerful jaap dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also known as Rudra Mantra which is chanted for various purposes like protection, good health and overcoming the fear of death. The Maha Mritunjaya Jap involves repeating jaaps and mantras many times. Performing this in Amarkantak is very auspicious.

Goddess Narmada the daughter of Lord Shiva and one of the most spiritual and holy rivers. Narmada mata abhishek puja is a ritual of worshipping river Narmada by offering her a sacred bath with various materials. By doing this puja in Amarkantak devotees express their devotion towards Narmada mata and seek her blessings for our good life. This puja can be performed at any place where the river flows.
