The word 'Samputit' is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Samput' which means a 'covering'. The Durga Saptashati tells the story of the battle between Goddess Durga and Mahishasura. Durga Saptashati path is also known as the Chandi path this path is collection of 700 mantra that worship the Goddess Durga during the puja various mantras and Jaap are chanted.
