Sahastravartan pujas and mantras are performed to take Lord Ganesha's blessings and seek his guidance before starting any new beginnings, Sahasrtravartan puja is one of the performing pujas in Ganpatipule. Shastra means "Thousand". This puja involves 1000 names of Lord Ganesha. In this puja, an image of Lord Ganesha is worshipped. Pujari performs by using 1000 names of Lord Ganesha.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of Lord Ganesha is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. The central part of this puja is the recitation of Lord Ganesha's 1000 names. Then Shodashopcharpuja is performed for the Lord Ganesha followed by Abhishek with Milk, Ganga jal and Panchamarit. Then things like flowers, modak, fruits etc are offered to Lord Ganesha. Then devotees seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. At last, puja will be completed with the aarti of Lord Ganesha.
