The Koradi Temple is located in the city of Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The Temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. The story of the temple is very known to the people, according to which during acient times, Koradi was known as Jakhapur, which was ruled by King Jholan. The king was blessed with seven sons naming - Janoba, Nanoba, Banoba, Bairoba, Khairoba, Agnoba, and Dattasur. Despite of the sons the King's heart was not happy, as he wanted to have a daughter. The king than started to do rituals such as Yagya, Hawan, Puja and Tapashchrya etc. to please the God and seek their blessings for a daughter. In reponse to his prayers, a daughter of divine beauty was born to him. From the time the King saw her, he felt the presence of Adi Shakti - The Primal Energy of the Universe manifested in her form. The King's daughter helped him with clarity during times of decision-making, guidinh light and also stood by him in times of adversity. Sometime later, the King had to go to a war and Goddess accompanied him with her sense of justice and divine insight. She played a vital role in ensuirng fairness, not just for the King but also for his adversaries. It was yet another affirmation of the Goddess Shakti. Upon their victorious return from the battle, Goddess Adi Shakti choose to stop where the sun set. This sacred location came to be knwon as Jakhapur (today's Karodi). The idol of the temple is beleived to be "Swayambhu" (self manifested). Close to the temple there is a Kund and Goumukh located which is a natural stream of cool water. Even today, one can find stones imprinted with intricate Rangoli patterns. The devotees believe that with the Goddess blessings, they can achieve the four pillars of a fulfilled life - Arth (wealth), Dharma (duty), Kaam (desire), and Moksha (liberation).
