Ammavari Unjal seva Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

About
Ammavari Unjal Seva is a special ritual at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. The Goddess (Ammavaru) is placed on a decorated swing (unjal). Devotees gently sway the swing with love and devotion. Bhajans, music, and Vedic chants are sung during the seva. The atmosphere becomes peaceful and divine. The swing is decorated with flowers and lamps. It shows the joy of serving the Mother Goddess. It is done after festivals or special events. Devotees sing hymns and watch the swaying of the deity. This brings happiness and spiritual joy. Attending the seva is very lucky. It deepens devotion and brings divine grace.
Cleaning the puja space is the first task Unjal Seva does. For purification, pure water, or Ganga jal, is utilised. The unjal, or swing, is embellished with garlands, lanterns, and flowers. On the swing is the idol of Ammavaru, also known as Lakshmi Devi. The devotee's name and wishes are spoken by the priest during Sankalpam. Flowers, sandalwood paste, kumkum, and turmeric are used to honour the goddess. They also provide food (naivedyam), incense, and a light (deepam). Lakshmi Ashtottaram and other Vedic hymns are chanted. Chanting is done as the swing is slowly moved. For the Goddess, devotees perform songs and bhajans. Harathi, prasadam, and blessings mark the conclusion of the puja. Typically, Unjal Seva is performed in the evening. The serene environment heightens the sense of divinity. The rite bestows protection, prosperity, and tranquillity.
