Mundan Sanskar is also known as Chuda karm. The Mundan Sanskar of girl is called chaula karma. This ritual is always performed in the most auspicious muhrat. In this ritual person's hair is completely shaved off, and it is believed that the hair on the head of the person is impure, and shaving it will free the person from all the sins and negativity. This puja is performed in Deoghar.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Than mantras are chanted by the pujari. The devotee's face is kept in the west direction and the devotee's hair is completely shaved off. Then the devotee's head is washed with Ganga Jal. Turmeric and sandalwood paste is applied on the devotee's head this paste will help in healing the cuts. Then the hair of the devotee is offered in front of the idol of God or is flown in the river.
