Ganga is known as one of the most spiritual and religious rivers in the Hindu religion. In the Hindu religion river, Ganga is always addressed as a mother as she is known to remove all the sins of the devotees and help them in getting moksha. Gangotri is the highest temple that is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Dhara Puja is done for the welfare of the devotee and his/her family.
At first, the Sankalp will be taken in the name of the person. Then the mantras are chanted and Ganga mata is worshipped with flowers and other things. At last, aarti is done on the River Ganga and then the blessings of it are taken by the devotees and their family members, devotees can also take a dip in the river.
