Devi is a sanskrit word that means "Goddess" it's refers to a mother Goddess. Nav means "Nine" and chandi refers to "Fire" another form of Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga represents Shakti. Navchandi path involves powerful saptashati mantras. Navchandi path includes 700 mantras divided into 13 chapters. This path expresses the victory of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasur. Performing this path with hawan is considered highly auspicious.
At first kalash is establish with Mango leaves and coconut in a red cloth and tie it with a red thread, leaving the top of the coconut uncovered. hen invoking Goddess Durga is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then all the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga are worshipped. Then pujari chants shlok from Durga Saptashati while performing Chandi yagna, offering seven hundred Ahuti into the sacred fire. At last, arti is done of the Goddess and the puja is completed.
