Sataghatabhishekam starts with Sankalpam. The priest says the devotee’s name, gotra, and prayer purpose. 100 sacred pots (kalashas) are filled with holy water. The water has herbs, rose water, turmeric, sandalwood, tulsi, and flowers. The pots are placed around the deity. Vedic mantras are chanted to energise the water. Purusha Suktam and Narasimha mantras are recited. Then, the Lord is bathed with water from each pot. The abhishekam is done in a grand and rhythmic way. Conches, bells, and music are played during the ritual. After the bath, the Lord is dressed in fresh clothes. He is decorated with garlands and ornaments. Deepa aradhana (lamp offering) and naivedyam (food offering) follow. Devotees receive theertham and prasadam. The ritual shows deep devotion and spiritual cleansing.
