Nav means "Nine" and chandi refers to "Fire" another form of Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga represents Shakti. Navchandi path involves powerful saptashati mantras. Navchandi path includes 700 mantras divided into 13 chapters. This path expresses the victory of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasur. Performing this path is considered highly auspicious.
At first sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Than kalash is established than Lord Ganesh is worshiped. Then all the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga are worshipped. At last arti is done of the Goddess and the puja is completed.
