The Vaidyanatha temple, also called Baba Vaidyanath Dham, is situated in Deoghar at the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the most revered places where Shiva lives. He was impressed with Ravana's commitment and wanted to help him when he got hurt. At that time, Shiva acted like a doctor and healed Ravana's injuries. That's why Shiva is sometimes called Vaidya, which means "Doctor." The temple derives its name from this aspect of Shiva.
