It is composed of two subgroups: the North Bhutanatha group, also known as the Mallikarjuna group, dates from the 11th to the 12th century and is primarily composed of Nagara architecture; the East Bhutanatha group, also known as the Bhutanatha main group, dates from the 7th to the 8th century and consists mainly of Dravida architecture.
