The Laxmaneshwar Temple is located in the city of Kharod, Chhattisgarh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Mahadev. Legend has it that once Lakshmana fell ill while doing penance for killing people in the Ramayana war. He prayed to Shiva to get rid of the illness. Pleased by their devotion, Shiva appeared before them in the form of Lakshalinga. Lakshmana worshiped the Shivlinga and was miraculously cured. From that day, Shivlinga came to be known as Laxmaneshwara Shivlinga.
