The Mrityunjay Mahadev Mandir, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. When devotees perform the "Mrityunjay path" and sprinkle water from the well (known as koop) on themselves, it is thought that the temples protect them from unnatural death and restore them from illnesses. It is also said that Dhanvantari, the Avatar of Vishnu and the god of Ayurvedic medicine, put all of his medications into the well. Mahashivratri is an important festival celebrated here. Shravan Maas is the best time to visit this temple.
