Narsingh Temple is a popular temple in Joshimath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narasimha Avatar). The construction of this temple was done by Adi Shankaracharya. The Shaligram stone was used to create the idol of the god Narasimha in the temple. During the winter months when the Badrinath Temple is closed, the idol of Lord Badrinath is brought to the Narsingh Temple.
