Nishkalank Mahadev Temple, located at Koliyak Beach near Bhavnagar, is a rare sea temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located approximately a kilometer into the sea, the temple has five different swayambhu Shiva lingams, each with a Nandi statue, on a square platform. It remains submerged during high tide and reappears beautifully at low tide, representing the washing away of sins. According to the stories, the Pandavas constructed the temple after the Kurukshetra War in search of peace. They were guided by Lord Krishna's instruction to follow a black flag and a cow until they turned white, which ultimately led them to Koliyak. Nishkalank Mahadev Fair is an important festival celebrated here during the month of Bhadrapada (August-September). Visitors should check the tide timings before planning their visit.
