Papanasi Temples are a group of 24 temples located on the banks of the Tungabhadra River in Alampur, Telangana. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and all the temples were built in the 6th and 10th centuries. The main temple, called Papanaseswara, was built by Chalukyas in the 6th century, while the remaining temples were constructed by Rashtrakutas between the 9th and 10th centuries. These temples are built in Dravida and phamsana styles and the site has two temples remaining, which are sub-shrines. The main shrine is of Shivlinga and the sub shrines are of Lord Ganesh Saptamatrukas on each side.
