The Bindhyabasini Temple is located in Pokhara, Nepal. Goddess Bindhyabasini is known as Bhagwati, who is an incarnation of Goddess Kali. The meaning “Bindhya” means the incarnation of a goddess, and “Basini” means the dweller of a place. In this temple premises there are also other temples of God and Goddess, like Saraswati, Shiva, Hanuman, and Ganesh. The Bindhyabasini temple was established by King Girvan Yudhha Bikram. This temple is built in Shikhara style. The Shikhara style of temple architecture is considered older than the much more prevalent Pagoda architecture. Dashain, Laxmi Puja, Hanuman Jayanti, and Maha Shivaratri are the major festivals that are celebrated at Bindhyabasini temple.
