The Shri Jogadya Shaktipeeth Temple is located in the village of Kshirgram, city of Barddhaman, West Bengal, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Jogadya Mata, Sati Mata, who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. According to the Ramayana, Mahi Ravana kidnapped both Lord Sri Rama and Lakshmana and kept them in Patal. In fact, Mahi Ravana was a devotee of Goddess Bhadrakali. Lord Hanuman went to Patal and Mahi killed Ravana and fled from there with Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Meanwhile, Lord Hanuman also took the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali and installed the idol in Ksheergram. Later the name of Devi Bhadrakali was changed to Jogdya.
