The Sree Manappullikkavu Bhagavathy Temple is located in the city of Palakkad, Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadra Kali. There is an ancient story about the temple that tells how a wicked Asura named Neelan tormented the people with his evil deeds and made their lives miserable. The people, appealed to Parasuraman for help and he asked Lord Paramasiva for a solution. Paramasiva took the form of his feminine aspect, Bhadra Kali, and sent her to Akamalavaram to slay Neelan. After defeating Neelan, Kali transformed into Manappulli Bhagavathy and blessed her devotees with abundance.
