Suriyanar Koil Temple is dedicated to Lord Suriya (Sun) and is located in Suryanar Kovil village in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. In this temple, Lord Suriya is facing west and holding louts in both hands, with his wife Ushadevi on his left, Pradyushadevi on his right and Navagraha (nine planets) without their vehicles. The 10-day Rath Sapthami in the Thai month (Jan-Feb) is a very important festival in the temple.
