About Thyagaraja Temple
The Thyagaraja Temple is located in the city of Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is worshipped in the form of Puttridankondar which means he came out of an ant hill. The chariot of the temple is the biggest in Asia and it takes many people to pull it. The temple was built by Chola kings. There is no specific insription of the temple's construction but it is believed that the temple was built in the 9th century.
