Upper Shri Shivalaya Situated on top of the northern hill of Badami, this is the Vaishnava temple. The artwork in these temples displays images of Shiva, Vishnu and Devi, along with stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Between the sixth and eighth centuries, the Badami Chalukyas, also known as the Eastern Chalukyas, constructed these. Ganesh Chathurthi is an important festival at this temple. The best time to visit this temple is during the months of October through February.
