The Veneswar Mahadev Temple is located in the city of Somnath, Gujarat. The Temple is a part of worship and devotion to Lord Shiva. As per the legends, the Rajputa king gave Gazni a tough fight and not surrendered himself against him, Finally, Ghazni decided to kidnap his daughter named Veni, the great devotee of Lord Shiva, who visit the temple daily, As Ghazni's soldiers attacked Veni, the Shivalinga split open, swallowing the princess. The temple is now known as Veneshwar Mahadev, showing traces of Veni's hair and sword marks on the Shivalinga till today. Festivals celebrated are Janmashtami, Shivaratri, Shravan and Diwali.
