The Vibhishan Temple is located at a distance of 16 Km from Rameshwaram. It has the only historical structure to survive the 1964 A.D. cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple is surrounded by sea and has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana. The temple was constructed about 500–1000 years ago. Also, it is the only temple in the world to be dedicated to Rawan's brother Vibhishan.
