Panchamrit is made up from 2 word Sanskrit words, where "Panch" means five, and "Amrit" means nectar. Panchamrit Abhishek involves offering of a mixture of five sacred substances to Lord Shiva. The five main ingredients are used to make Panchamrit including milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar These all are mixed. Mantras are chanted throughout the process and once the puja is completed, the Panchamrut is distributed as prasad.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of God is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then things like Panchamrit is used to Abhishek God along with mantras chanted by the pujari. At last, arti is done by the pujari and blessings are taken by the devotees.
