About
Jal Abhishek is a Hindu ritual in which water is offered on lingam. This puja is mostly performed in the temples. During puja in chitrkot.During the puja, various mantras are also chanted. Jal Abhishek is performed to invoke the blessing of Rudra in the form of Lord Shiva.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking Lord Shiva is done with mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then water is used to Abhishek on Lord Shiva along with mantras by the pujari. At last the blessings of Lord Shiva are taken by the devotees and the puja is completed.
