Naimisharanya is considered as holiest forest and it is beleived that Satyanarayan katha was first performed in Naimisharanya. Satyanarayan katha is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Satyanarayan is a another form of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Satyanarayan katha was founded in Skand puran. The word "Saty" means Truth and "Narayan" is a name of Lord Vishnu protectoer of the universe. It is beleived that the doing satyanarayan Katha a person gets the same result as performing a thousand yagyas. This ritual is supposed to be an easy solution to the problems of human beings.
At first sanklp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking of Lord Narayan is done with the help of mantras and prayers by the pujari. Then Pujariji told Satyanarayan katha to the devotees. At Last arti of Lord Narayan is done and blessings are taken by the devotees.
